Usher Team:
Our usher team ensures that each visitor and regular congregant at Unity Christ Church is greeted with a friendly smile. Ushers help visitors orient themselves to our physical plant and assist in finding seats in our Sanctuary. Ushers also participate in special events and holiday services at the church.  If you are interested in joining this dynamic ministry team, please contact us!

Youth Education Team:
The mission of the Youth Education Department of Unity Christ Church of Wilmington is to “empower children and youth to use spiritual wisdom to fulfill their soul’s purpose.” We see “education as a process, through which we effectively support the unfolding of the child’s spiritual nature and model the living of spiritual principles.”

The Association of Unity Churches has developed programs for different age groups based on the philosophy that children themselves are “a living curriculum.” Utilizing Unity co-founder Myrtle Fillmore’s view that it is our mission to draw children out spiritually and to aid in their “soul’s unfoldment,” our curricula facilitate self-affirmation and growth.  For more information regarding Unity's youth programs in our area visit  www.seunityyouth.org

We invite you to contact us if serving the youth and families of our community appeals to you.  Currently Unity Christ Church of Wilmington has six different youth education programs. They are as follows:

Nursery (0- 3 years old): Our nursery is staffed by caring, competent and professional care providers who tend to the little ones while their parents and guardians attend our 11:00 a.m. Celebration Worship Service.

3-4 Year Olds: What a Wonderful World, the curriculum used in this class, focuses on “who I am” as a child of God, exploring our nature as unique, loving, compassionate, and creative beings – one with god and all that is; and on “who we are” as a family and community together, exploring experiences of cooperation, peace-making, care-taking and the diversity of our world family.

5-7 Year Olds: Celebrating My God-self, the curriculum used in this class, presents basic Unity principles through stories, affirmations, Bible verses, music, creative expression and other activities. Written and published by our Association of Unity Churches, this curriculum is based on Unity’s Living Curriculum philosophy that “that which is to be learned or known is not within any guide, but rather lives in the children themselves.”

8-10 Year Olds: With the objective “to honor each child as a unique and valuable person,” this class presents the Twelve Powers of Man, as taught by Unity co-founder Charles Fillmore and five basic principles of Unity. It shows how these spiritual tools can be used easily in the children’s daily lives, thanks to Unity’s Color Key Program and the research work of the Hafey team, Marilyn and Michelle. This class format includes the “God can” (prayer box), prayer time, personal affirmations for the week, meditations relating to the week’s lesson and personal journals.

Uniteens (11-13 year olds): This group is organized for a particularly crucial age group, 11-13, and follows Unity principles to give pre-teens the opportunity to internalize Unity principles that support the inner Christ and their personal sense of self. The Uniteen group structure is founded on respect for the individual. Unity tools that promote spiritual growth are key, along with genuine concern from their peers and mentoring from the sponsors.

Youth of Unity (14-18 year olds): The program for high school youth is the culmination of Unity youth spiritual education. It is a special peer-driven, Unity structured support group for teens in the critical high school years. We are fortunate to have an extremely talented, skilled and experienced sponsor/mentor for our YOU group. Michelle Hafey grew up in Unity, is a nationally board certified science teacher and has functioned as a youth leader on all levels through the years.

Hospitality Team:
This team could be nicknamed the “fun team” because they are charged with organizing our fun social events. These include our monthly themed fellowship meals/parties to special events throughout the year. Our Music Ministry Team at Unity Christ Church of Wilmington provides music to suit all of our services. Sometimes contemplative, sometimes rockin', sometimes old fashioned, sometimes modern, the music at Unity is always uplifting. Headed by Eileen Argenbright, this team welcomes amateur and professional musicians, singers, sound and video enthusiasts to join the team.  Choir practice is currently held on Tuesdays at 5:30pm for the Children's Choir, 6:00pm for the Teen Musical Group, and 6:45 for the Adult Choir.  Contact Eileen at music@unitywil.com to find out more.

Prayer Chaplain Ministry Team:
Prayer is the heart and soul of the Unity movement, and Unity Christ Church of Wilmington is pleased to have in place a dedicated cadre of prayer chaplains who are available to pray with congregants following Sunday services and make monthly “wellness” calls to church members. Prayer chaplaincy training is offered in the autumn of each year and anyone who is guided to join this team is welcome to take the training.
